On Friday October 15, the City of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada got to enjoy the show that we performed at the Century Casino. The Venue has a dance floor and people were up dancing for most of the show. At one point in the show Sheena does a song called 'In The Winter' from one of her earlier recordings. This song is done with just Sheena and the Keyboard player, Joe Spraker. People were still up on the dance floor and Sheena had to tell them to sit so they wouldn't block others. It's a moment in the show where they need to just focus on the meaning of the song.
We had a great time in Edmonton. I have some friends there and we got to at least eat dinner together and enjoy some time after the show. Our sound check time was changed and so I didn't get to spend as much time as I would've liked with my friends in Edmonton, but we enjoyed the time we had.
This Venue's seating capacity was 395 and it was packed. As we closed the show with 'For Your Eyes Only', the people were on their feet giving their praise for the show they just enjoyed.
After the show, we didn't get a lot of sleep because we had to head off to Regina which is in the province of Saskatchewan. So on Saturday, October 16 we performed at the Casino Regina which is known as one of Saskatchewan's best tourist attractions. This building used to be the old union station in downtown Regina.
The seating capacity for the 'Casino Regina' show room is over 700. This is a beautiful show room and it sounded great. This crowd was a little more reserved or we could say sophisticated, no one was up dancing they just enjoyed the show from their seats.
By the time we got to 'Morning Train' people were up out of their seats a little bit, but again once we finished the last song, everyone was up for yet another 'standing ovation'.
So 2 nights, 2 cities, Edmonton & Regina, 2 'Standing Ovations' You can't ask for more than that when you give a live performance. Canada, we thank you.
Until Next Time - Phillip
