WELCOME

Being in the entertainment industry I'm constantly asked, "Who are you working with?", OR "What is your current project?"
So I decided to start a simple BLOG that answer those questions.

"Heart Of Mine" - Boz Scaggs

Every once in a while there comes a song that you wish you wrote. The song has a great melody, and a great lyric. But if you didn't write the song can you still be a part of the song in someway? Well that was the case with this classic "Heart Of Mine" by Boz Scaggs. This was a song written by the great Bobby Caldwell who is a great singer / songwriter in his own right.

This arrangement was done by a good friend of mine Aaron Zigman who is also playing keyboards on this song. So you're probably asking, where do I come in? Aahhh, the backgrounds. Yes I was called in to sing the backgrounds on this beautiful song with my brother James Ingram and good friend / singer Phil Perry. The three of us sang on a few of the songs on Boz's album. We recorded Boz's album back in 1988. It was our first time working with Boz, but he was very nice and we enjoyed working with him.

This song though in particular was just beautiful. and we were glad to be a part. This song reached the Top 40 and it brought Boz back from a 7-year hiatus. If you remember the song then you remember how beautiful it is, if you've never heard it, then listen to this beautiful song by clicking here.

I will be hitting the road pretty soon and I will share with you the outcome of these performances.

Until Next Time - Phillip

  1. I just listened to the song...it's beautiful...you're rightt; very nice lyrics.

The music video doesn't make sense to me though...a circus stage with performers? Oh well...I didn't write it anyways...but GREAT gymnastics towards the end...haha.
