WELCOME

Being in the entertainment industry I'm constantly asked, "Who are you working with?", OR "What is your current project?"
So I decided to start a simple BLOG that answer those questions.

"Going Back To Indiana"

On March 19, 2011 I performed with Sheena Easton at the Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun, Indiana. We had a great time. Our day consisted of rehearsing some new material for some future shows and going over a couple of songs for Saturday Night's performance. The band sounded great. The new material that we'll be performing in future shows sounded like the band had been playing the songs for quite some time. The band sounded tight.

We played at the Grand Theater and it holds 1,150 people and it looked like we were just about at capacity,  with only a couple of seats empty. The crowd was a little bit older crowd than the normal audiences that Sheena usually draws, but even still, there was the standing ovation at the end of the show. As I've mentioned in the past her shows are very consistent and the 'Standing Ovations' never get old.

Part of performing in various places for me is seeing friends and relatives that I haven't seen in a while. A cousin of mine and her husband came down  to the show. They drove down from Akron, Ohio. I also had some very dear friends that recently moved to the Ohio area come to the show. My cousin and I hadn't seen each other since about 2002, so it was nice to meet her husband and hanging out with some of the friends after the show, getting caught up is always nice.

Indiana definitely gave me a touch of home. Since I'm originally from Akron, Ohio traveling to the venue the homes reminded me a lot of Akron. I've been gone from Akron since 1977, just after I graduated in 1976, so a lot of memories were going through my head.

So the Sheena Easton band had another 'great time' hanging out and performing. Our next performance is scheduled in April for Canada. But in the meantime we definitely enjoyed 'Going Back To Indiana'

Until Next Time - Phillip

  1. That would be like me moving away from Oak Park and coming back over 30 years later...whoa...craziness. I'm sure it was really nice being with Debbie and Keith. :) Wish I could have been there with you guys!
